Morae announces its commitment as a founding signatory of the Greener Litigation Pledge, an initiative which aims to reduce the environmental impact of dispute resolution.
Launched in June 2021 by Mishcon de Reya, Greener Litigation is a collective of law firms and other legal professionals who recognise the importance of restricting global warming to 1.5°C, as identified by the 2015 Paris Agreement. Pledge signatories have all committed to taking steps to reducing their carbon footprints while continuing to deliver the highest standards of client service.
The group encourages lasting change in litigation practice around the world and invites any organizations to sign the Pledge who are engaged in the conduct of litigation.
“Morae is delighted to pledge our support to Greener Litigation,” said Brian Flack, Senior Managing Director at Morae. “Finding ways to minimize our carbon footprint aligns well with helping our clients more efficiently meet their e-discovery and investigatory obligations, which has long been a key focus for our team. This includes helping our clients efficiently migrate on-premises e-discovery solutions to cloud-based ones, which some studies have shown can be significantly more environmentally friendly.”
